UserDefender Terms of Service

1. Introduction

UserDefender is a Public Alpha Test (PAT) Discord bot. By inviting or using the bot, you acknowledge that features are in development, may contain bugs, and might change or be removed at any time. The UserDefender team monitors feedback and fixes bugs to improve stability and usability.

2. Data Handling and Protection

UserDefender collects only the data strictly necessary for its operation and for abuse monitoring: message metadata (filtered content, IDs, channel info, classification), user IDs, server IDs and public server metadata. No private or direct‐message content is stored or accessible by the development team. Data is used solely for bot functions, logging, statistics, and abuse prevention. It is never shared with third parties except as anonymized statistics or where legally required.

3. Data Storage and Access

Collected data is retained only as long as each feature requires it, then deleted automatically or manually. Access to raw logs and metadata is strictly limited to the core development team and designated server staff (per‐server staff roles), and does not include any private or direct message content.

4. Abuse and Restrictions

You agree to use the bot’s features only as intended. If you discover or suspect bugs, abuse, or policy violations, report them privately via the bot’s DM support or our Support Server. The development team may restrict individual users or disconnect entire servers to prevent abuse or uphold Discord’s Terms of Service.

5. Responsibility and Liability

By inviting UserDefender, you—the server owner or administrator—assume full responsibility for compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Discord’s Terms of Service. The UserDefender team acts only as a software provider and data processor; we disclaim all liability for any direct, indirect, or consequential damages arising from your use of the bot. You acknowledge the risks of an Alpha‐stage service and accept that no guarantees are provided.

6. Developer Review & Disconnection Criteria

The development team may inspect your server’s public settings, roles, channels, and audit logs to ensure compliance and safe operation. Under no circumstances will the team read or access private messages or non‐public channels. We reserve the right to disconnect the bot from any server if:

Such disconnection decisions are at the sole discretion of the UserDefender team and are not automated.

7. Server Review Appeals

If your server is disconnected and you believe this was in error, you may request a review by contacting us via the bot’s DM support or on our Support Server. Appeals must be lodged within 7 days of disconnection.

8. Terms of Service Modifications

The UserDefender team reserves the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Updates will be announced via the bot and on our Support Server. Continued use of the bot after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
